The Solar System formed approximately 4.6 Billions years ago from the gravitational Collapse of a giant Molecular Cloud. The vast majority of the system's Mass is in the Sun, with most of the remainder mass contained in Jupiter. The Powerful Gravitational Mass of Jupiter has saved Planet Earth from many Asteroid impacts. But there are a vast number of Asteroids out of Reach of Jupiter's gravitational Tractor Beam that could affect Earth in the Future.
